About us

From a Dream to a Legacy

Our journey began with a simple passion — a love for motorcycles, the thrill of drag racing, and the hum of an engine being tuned just right. For our founder, Reece "Buddy" Robertson, this passion was nurtured in his home garage with the unwavering support of his mom and dad, who stood as his anchors and helped him build his dream from the ground up.

That small space soon turned into a professional workshop, fueled by a lifelong dedication to all things two-wheeled. Today, we're proud to call a special place in Wynberg our home. This isn't just any workshop; it's the very same space where Reece's grandfather ran his auto shop. Reece's earliest memories are here — helping his grandfather with welding after school, learning the trade, and falling in love with the craft.

That legacy of hard work, hands-on skill, and genuine passion is what defines us. We don't just fix bikes; we carry on a tradition, supported by a dedicated team.

With years of drag racing experience, Reece brings a deep understanding of performance and precision to every motorcycle we work on.

We are a family, united by a love for what we do.

Fueling the Next Generation

The Future of the Track Starts Here.

At Buddy’s Motorcycles, our passion for performance isn’t reserved for the pros—it’s built from the ground up. In conjunction with Racing 4 Change, an organization dedicated to breaking down the barriers of entry into the world of motorcycle racing.

Bridging the Gap

We recognize that for many young enthusiasts, the leap from the sidelines to the starting grid is often sidelined by the high costs of machinery and technical maintenance. We’re changing that narrative. By sponsoring young riders, we provide the tools, the tech, and the track-side presence needed to turn interest into talent.

What We Bring to the Grid:

The Fleet: We supply a dedicated stable of pocket motorcycles, specifically maintained for children ready to experience their first knee-down moments.

Precision Prep: Every bike receives the same meticulous attention as our high-performance builds. We handle all servicing and technical tuning to ensure safety and peak performance on race day.

Track-Side Mentorship: We don’t just drop off the bikes. Our team provides active track-side assistance, helping young riders understand their machinery, find their lines, and gain confidence in the paddock.

More Than a Workshop

At Buddy’s, we believe in the discipline, the mechanical curiosity, and the community that racing fosters. Through this initiative, we are ensuring that the next generation of South African riders has the support they need to start their journey—regardless of whether they own a motorcycle yet.
